About Us Friends

Supporting Your Childs Passion for Dance, Drama, Music & Visual Arts

The pursuit of performing and creative arts is an integral part of our curriculum. Students engage in artistic activities to foster individuality, personal growth, self-confidence and freedom of expression, while also cultivating self-discipline and mutual respect.

A School Like No Other

Small class sizes maximise the learning capacity of every student. Each classroom employs the services of an expert teacher who has been highly-trained to implement our principles effectively. Our teacher selection policy is one of the most vital aspects of our school. We appreciate the importance of their contribution in shaping enquiring minds and developing young talent.

Encouraging Your Child's Passion for Sport

We believe that sport plays a significant role in building the personal and social values necessary to achieve success. Students are encouraged to participate in sporting activities on both competitive and non-competitive levels, resulting in well-rounded individuals that are not solely focused on academia.

Nurturing Your Child to Love School

Being non-denominational in nature, the Reddam House Helderfontein school environment allows for total religious freedom, mutual respect and tolerance. Our curriculum and teaching methodology promote widely-held moral values and ethical behaviour in all facets of school life. We aim to provide a safe community where students can relate and interact with each other, while appreciating the importance of social, racial, and gender equality.

Beyond the Classroom

Young people face increasing demands as part of an ever-changing and fast-growing global society. Adequate preparation for life after school is vital, and exposure to an enriched extracurricular programme outside the classroom is becoming increasingly significant.

At Reddam House Helderfontein, our students have access to various physical, creative and academic pursuits that appeal to them. They may choose from an extensive range of additional activities to discover an interest that will enable them to develop. Access to extracurricular clubs and tuition fosters positive personal qualities, a resilient attitude and key skills, which complement and strengthen academic success.

Inter-house activities are held annually and offer participation in all seasonal sports. During house activities, tutors and school staff emphasise the importance of active involvement and teamwork. Sports teams, and other groups or individual students, may be entered into leagues to compete against independent schools in the region and those overseas.

Our enriched extra-curricular activities programme currently includes basketball, gymnastics*, hiking, horse riding*, mountain biking, swimming, touch rugby, water polo, athletics, cricket, golf*, hockey, netball, soccer, tennis, debating, choir, eisteddfod*, music workshops, public speaking, chess, dance, and drama. Clubs and activities are subject to demand.

*Activities indicated may require an additional cost.
